“ Great food, cold beers!!! What else do you need. The pizzas, and wings are amazing!! ”
“ My wife and I were passing through on an evening found this place. Live music and beer can't beat the combination. ”
“ Food was great and so was the service! The ambiance of the old bank building is excellent. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. ”
“ Nice space with a large variety of beers on tap. Pizza is apparently their go to. It was pretty good. Order at the bar with friendly service. Thursday is karaoke night so it was LOUD. ”
“ Great spot for some pizza and live music. Lots on tap and reasonably priced. Check out a show. ”
“ Ambiance is great. They had a packed house with great live music. We stayed in the bar area and tried a flight and some craft beers! All beers were very good! Street corn dip was yummy, and the pizza smelled great! We will have to try it next time. ”
“ My first time visiting was last Saturday night. We had a blast! We sat upstairs and had a great view of the stage for live music. (The artist went on a little later than we were expecting so we only got to see one song performed but that's okay). We ordered two craft beers- an IPA and salted lime sour gose. Both were great! Family also ordered craft sodas and had good comments although I didn't try. If you've never tried craft beers or just aren't sure what to order the bar staff was really helpful in recommendations but also letting us try samples of a few. We got two pizzas, one more of a supreme and the other a meat lovers. Awesome pizza! Can't wait to go back and try more beers. Super fun place and I bought a t shirt ”
“ We were in town for business for a few days and we came here for dinner for two of those days because the atmosphere, people, service and food were great. The first night we had Loaded Street Fries and Wings. Delicious! My husband had one of the beers on tap and had had a glass of Cabernet from Broken X winery that was just like drinking a cab from California. The second night we tried the Pioneer Pizza which we enjoyed while listening to some karaoke. A big bonus was they are dog friendly inside! This was a good find while in the area and would definitely come back. ”
“ Out of all the places in Brownwood, this was by far my favorite spot in town. The inside is spacious with both downstairs, upstairs, and outdoor seating. Interior is decorated well and also has merchandise (t-shirts, sweaters, hats, stickers). Pioneer Taphouse has a wide variety of beers on tap as well as ciders, wines, and ranch waters. If you're like me and struggle with choosing, you're allowed to taste the beers/ciders on tap before making a decision which is super nice. As for the food, I've tried their pizza, wings, salads, desserts, nachos, etc. They were all amazing but my personal favorite is their hand tossed Fancy Squatch Pizza. All their pizzas have a nice crunch on the outside but doughy on the inside. And when paired with the ciders/beers, it's a perfect combo! What I love about this spot is that they host fun events every week (i.e. trivia, karaoke, oktoberfest, live music, etc.) If you check out their facebook page, there are always events to look forward to so make sure to check it out! My personal favorite is the biweekly karaoke nights on Thursdays- you'll always see the regulars there and on certain nights it gets super packed which is always fun. On top of the great food, drinks, and vibes, the staff and customer service here is amazing. The workers are always so welcoming and hardworking. I also spoke with the owner several times and he even helped me jump my car during a busy night which was very much appreciated! Whether you're a local or visiting Brownwood, Pioneer Taphouse is the first place that I will always recommend! ”
